POOLE Town's lingering wait to discover their next FA Cup opponent will be as torturous as any fixture for boss Tom Killick.
And on the back of Saturday's 2-0 success at Hastings, which pouched £7,500 in prize money and a place in today's fourth and final qualifying round draw, the message is clear – he wants the most passable route possible.
With the club on the cusp of ending the club’s 32-year wait for a tie in the competition proper, Killick said: “I know it’s boring but I want the lowest-ranked team left on home soil. If we have to get a National South club, I want one from the lower reaches!
“Some might like the look of a big club from the National League but the carrot of a Football League club is there. We have been so close to the dream so many times now, we just want to get over the line."

On the victory at Pilot Field, Killick added: “It was perhaps not one for the purist but I was pleased with how we defended. We could have been better with the ball but controlled the game reasonably well.”
