PAUL Roast has no idea whether tonight's trip to Didcot Town will be his last match in charge of Wimborne Town – but he's done his homework nonetheless.

Magpies could name their new manager ahead of Saturday's home match against Shortwood with the club legend and caretaker boss happy to fill in or step aside.

But with precious points on offer for the Southern South & West strugglers, Roast tasked right-hand man John Macey with doing a bit of digging.

Roast told the Daily Echo: "John has found out bits and bobs about them and we will talk with the players before the match.

"We know they are big side with a few weapons. They look like they're mid-table but after a couple of wins, they will be hoping to push towards the play-offs with a couple of games in hand. It will be a real test for us."

On the prospect of staying on for one last hurrah, Roast said: "There's an indication it might come to that but at first, I was asked to do it for these three games.

"If they still have decisions to make and they ask me to do Saturday, it would be a pleasure, particularly as it is a home game as well. Either way, it's not a problem."

Billy Maybury returns from suspension at Loop Meadow with the only doubt being Jon Blake (hamstring).

Elsewhere, Premier Division league leaders Poole Town embark on an arduous trek to Histon.

In the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division, Lymington Town host backmarkers Alresford. Ringwood Town travel to Moneyfields in the Russell-Cotes Cup (all 7.45pm).
