TEENAGER Charlotte Grenville-Cleave played a starring role as Swanage & Wareham moved into fourth place in West Clubs’ League thanks to a 3-0 win over East Division rivals Team Bath Buccaneers.
The 14-year-old set up Swans’ first two goals with a couple of precision crosses before completing the scoring to cap an impressive individual showing.
Swans turned on the style following a cagey first half and dominated the second period, effectively sealing victory during a 10-minute purple patch.
Grenville-Cleave’s first cross was met by fellow youngster Niamh Houghton to give Swans the lead before a great pick up by Katy Wright from the second led to her doubling their advantage.
And Grenville-Cleave wrapped up the scoring when she took the ball into the D and tucked away the rebound after her initial shot had been saved.
Swans captain Liz Lawler said: “We have been training hard to produce the excellent hockey we played today. I’d like to thank my team and our coaches who have shown great commitment.”
Swans: Rutter, Barker, Barnes, Black, Lucas, Swan, Houghton, Mahendron, Lawler, Wright, Foster, Grenville-Cleave.
