BOURNEMOUTH'S Georgia Hall will aim to pick up where she left off when she begins her 2016 Ladies' European Tour campaign at the New Zealand Open.

The Kinson-based teenager kicked off her year in the best possible style with victory at the Australian Ladies' Professional Golf-sanctioned Victorian Open last weekend – her second professional triumph and biggest payday to date.

And the former Oakmead College pupil should be in buoyant mood ahead of the £155,000 event at Clearwater Golf Club in Christchurch, where a number of top names will take part.

World number one Lydia Ko – with whom Hall shared the silver medal at the Women's British Open in 2013 – will be the event's star attraction.

Ko tied for third at the Coates Golf Championship in Florida at the weekend and last year fired a stunning course-record 61 to wrap up a four-stroke victory on her home fairways.

Hall is due off at 7.25pm GMT this evening and has been placed with Australia's Rebecca Artis and Norway's Marianne Skarpnord.

The New Zealand Open is sanctioned by both the LET and the ALPG Tour, the latter being the body that organised the Victorian Open.

Hall, 19, earned a spot at next week's Australian Open following her victory in Melbourne.
