FELIX Ambrose hit an unbeaten 43 as Lymington booked their place in the semi-final of the Southern Premier League T20 Cup with a five-wicket win over Alton on Sunday.

The teenage all-rounder’s 29-ball knock included four fours and a six as Lymington surpassed Alton’s 126 for seven with seven balls to spare at Jubilee Playing Fields.

Ambrose (1-22), Simon Beetham (2-19), Dom Hand (2-27), Richie Lock (1-24) and Ed Freeman (0-28) all returned tidy figures from their four-over spells as Lymington put the brakes on Alton.

Hand accounted for openers Daniel Hutton (54) and Alex Hammond as Alton failed to build on a promising start which saw them reach 96 for one.

Although Ben Rogers fell cheaply at the start of the reply, Hand (23) and Lock (21) shared 39 for the second wicket before Ambrose and Ryan Scott put on 36 for the fifth to guide them to 102 for five.

Ambrose and Simon Beetham saw Lymington, the 2009 winners and 2014 runners-up, over the winning line as they joined Havant, South Wilts and Sarisbury Athletic in the last four.
