PROMOTER Matt Ford is planning to make Pirates’ Celebration of Speedway evening an annual event.

Poole have reduced admission prices for tonight’s Elite League showdown with Leicester, while any child accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.

Free air horns and vuvuzelas will be handed out to the first 200 children as boss Ford hopes to create a carnival atmosphere.

He told the club website: “It is my intention to make this an annual event. We are reaching out to all persons of Poole to come and experience speedway and we know from past meetings that the bigger the crowd, the better the atmosphere and, hopefully, it will be something very special indeed.

“The team is still striving for a fourth straight Elite League title which, if we could pull it off, would be a remarkable achievement and one the town of Poole should be proud of.

“I still feel there are many people in the area who have never been to speedway and, hopefully, we may attract some of them. We are keen to make this an entertaining and fun evening and it would be fantastic to see some new faces taking in the action for the first time.

Gates open at 6pm with tapes-up at the normal start time of 7.30pm. It is pay on the door.
