CARLA Rudkin-Guillen made a stunning comeback from injury, with another gold medal at the English Karate Championships.

The New Milton teenager also won gold at the event in 2022.

But she has recently been out of action for around four months, due to a wrist injury.

That makes her victory in Cannock all the more impressive, her two English titles adding to consecutive British Karate crowns.

Denis Margolin and Paul Moinier, also trained by Collin Rudkin at the Southern England Karate Federation, won bronze medals at the event.

Rudkin himself has recently been awarded his seventh Dan black belt, after 35 years studying the art of karate.

His son, Sensei Danny Rudkin, was awarded sixth Dan black belt by 10th Dan Sensei Ticky Donovan OBE.

Rudkin-Guillen is soon set for trips to Mexico, Spain and Italy to compete, helping by backing from charity Little Lives UK.
