POOLE’S Izzy Songhurst has retained her title as British Women’s Trampoline Champion for the second year running following a stellar performance at the this weekend's Trampoline, Tumbling & DMT British Championships at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.

The 24-year-old also claimed the Synchro title having competed alongside two-time Olympic medalist, Bryony Page, who also trains in Poole.

Izzy’s final score of 52.54 landed her at the top of the podium, ahead of Louise Brownsey and Jessica Clarke who placed second and third, respectively.

Having won gold at the British Championships, Izzy now has her sights set on the Trampoline World Championships in November.

If selected, Izzy will be among the 100 gymnasts from over 50 countries battling it out for the title of world champion and securing one of the highly sought-after places at the Paris 2024 Games.

Also taking place at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, British gymnasts will have the chance to compete at World’s in front of a home crowd for the first time in 12 years.

At last year’s World Championships, Izzy helped Great Britain win the all-around three disciples World team title.
