WIMBORNE Town added another point away at Evesham United in a goalless encounter at the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium.

The hosts played the final 15 minutes of the encounter with 10 men after Charlie Wise was dismissed for two yellow cards, but Magpies were unable to make their numerical advantage count.

After 21 minutes Jack Lovell had put the ball into the back of net, but saw the potential opener ruled out for offside.

That was a clear-cut as the first-half action got, with both sides creating little of note.

Ben Satterley was forced off on the stroke of half time, the midfielder scythed down in the centre circle and earning Charlie Wise his first yellow.

The Evesham captain would collect his second caution on 73 minutes after clattering into Harry Baker, swiftly receiving his marching orders.

Five minutes from time, Baker must have thought he had won it for Wimborne after rounding the goalkeeper and slotting into the empty net.

However, the linesman’s flag was raised for a second time, denying Magpies a first win in four games.

Tim Sills’ side remain in fifth place, with 11 points from their opening six fixtures.

Magpies: Flitney; Scorey, Roberts, Walker, Jackson; Carmichael (Rees-Dottin, 82), Satterley (Morgan, 45+3), Bedford (Beale, 69), Neale, Lovell; Baker.

Unused subs: Hanger, Johnston.
