SWANAGE & Herston Town ran out 5-2 winners over Bournemouth Sports in a compelling Dorset Premier League game at Chapel Gate.

Manager Jamie Smith made two changes from last week with Jake Streams and Sam Peacock replacing the suspended Dan Reeks and unavailable Dec Keates, with Ocean Smith returning to the bench.

Swans made a bright start when Charlie Brassington went close with a long-range shot.

That was a taste of what was to come, when they found the opener on eight minutes.

Sam Peacock cleverly held off his opponent, feeding Jack Hughes to score from close range. The hosts equalised through Jamie Trimble with a great header leaving keeper Taylor Hibbs helpless.

But parity was short lived, as Brassington put the Swans back in front on 35 minutes, rifling home a free kick from the edge of the box.

Peacock went close himself, missing the target at close-range following a free-kick, whilst the hosts ended the half with an effort denied only be the post.

At the start of the second period, Cohen Lee was shown a contentious red card.

Undeterred, Swans managed to stretch their lead when Peacock finally got on the scoresheet with a headed effort.

But the two-goal cushion lasted just two minutes, Sports quickly reducing arrears through Trimble’s second of the game.

Although 10 men Swans were under pressure they increased their lead when substitute Ocean Smith capitalised on a mistake by Sports keeper Marc Davies to roll the ball into an empty net.

Following a good pass from Peacock, substitute Ocean Smith completed his brace when he chipped the advancing keeper to complete a great away win for the gallant 10 men Swans.

Victory away from home continues Swans’ fine form, with only one defeat in eleven games for Jamie Smith's men.
