POOLE Town laboured to a 1-0 win over 10-man Swindon Supermarine thanks to a late Tony Lee goal.

Dolphins’ winner came in the 92nd minute following a sustained spell of pressure on the Swindon goal following Jake Andrews’ dismissal in the 56th minute.

Poole had to withstand pressure from their guests in the opening stages, with the wind assisting numerous attacks.

At the other end, Lee’s diving header from Declan Rose’s cross at the near post was the closest either side had come in the first 30 minutes.

Toby Holmes squeezed an effort towards the near post, Conor Brann in the Swindon goal smothering it out for a corner.

Luke Pardoe’s mazy run down the left allowed the winger to cut back and find Wes Fogden, his second effort on the rebound flying wide.

The half ended with a a few nervy moments for the hosts. Lloyd Thomas reacted quickly to push away a cross deflected goalwards by Jamie Whisken.

The resultant corner led to goalmouth scramble, which Poole eventually cleared before Supermarine could pull the trigger.

Former Poole Town loanee Andrews' first major impact on the game was to receive his marching orders.

The midfielder took down Lee off the ball right in front of the referee, giving the match official little choice but to show red.

Shortly after the hour mark, Kaya Tshaka had a long drive palmed around the post by Brann.

Poole were struggling to make their numerical advantage count against a compact Supermarine side.

Holmes released Murray inside the box, the diminutive midfielder finding Lee in front of the goal.

Lee tried a back-heeled finish, only to be denied by a crowd of Swindon defenders.

A rare counter from the away side almost broke the deadlock.

David Sims-Burgess found space inside the area, but could only send a powerful effort smack bang on the post.

Entering the final five minutes, Poole went close again as Harvey Wright’s deflected effort was clawed away by Brann.

Poole kept on going closer and closer. Holmes’ flicked header found Lee at the back stick, but he could only nod over the bar.

Dolphins’ pressure would eventually tell in added time.

Fed the ball at the near post by Rose, Lee swivelled and fired home to snatch all three points.
