BOURNEMOUTH golfer Georgia Hall moved a step closer to her Ladies European Tour dream with a tied-third finish at the Grecotel Amirandes Ladies Open.

The former Oak Academy pupil moved up to 13th in the Access Series order of merit courtesy of a two-under-par effort in Crete.

Hall earned 1,840.50 euro for her troubles but the Wallisdown-based star was outscored by champion Tonje Daffinrud (-10) and Denmark’s Daisy Nielsen (-7).

The players that finish between sixth and 20th in the order of merit are guaranteed a place in final qualifying for the full tour next year.

Just one event remains in the Access Series – the WPGA Challenge – which takes place at Stoke by Nayland Hotel Golf & Spa from Thursday until Saturday.

Meanwhile, Kevin Spurgeon produced the round of the Dutch Senior Open on his way to his best finish on the European Senior Tour in 2014.

The Ferndown touring professional yesterday carded a six-under-par 67 at the International in Amsterdam.

That enabled the 59-year-old to take to three-under his overall score which saw him finish eight shots adrift of champion Ian Woosnam.

Remedy Oak’s Gary Emerson was not far behind Spurgeon as he ended up tied-16th.

The European Senior Tour rookie experienced an up-and-down final day which included seven birdies and four bogeys.

That three-under effort meant Emerson ended up on one-under and continued his solid season.
