FERNDOWN’S Hayley Davis has been called up for Great Britain & Ireland’s nine-strong Vagliano Trophy team.
Davis, 22, travels to Malone, Ireland, for the tournament held between June 26-27 and will be hoping to help her team end the four-year dominance of their Europe counterparts.
The English women’s stroke play champion has represented Great Britain & Ireland at the Vagliano Trophy and Astor Trophy in the past.
Captain Elaine Farquharson-Black said: “In recent years, Europe has had the upper hand but I am feeling very excited about our team.
“We have the world numbers one and three but importantly we have strength in depth with players who have already shown that they can perform consistently well on the world stage.”
Gemma Clews (Cheshire), Alice Hewson (Hertfordshire), Bronte Law (Cheshire), Meghan MacLaren (Northamptonshire) and Singapore-based Charlotte Thomas are the other English players.
