BOURNEMOUTH'S Georgia Hall claimed the second title of her professional career as she triumphed by a single shot at the Victorian Open.

The 19-year-old had led from the start at 13th Beach Golf Links in Australia and just pipped Denmark's Nanna Madsen and Norway's Marianne Skarpnord to bank nearly £22,000 in prize money, the biggest payday of her career.

Following a final round of 71 on the Beach Course, at which three of the four rounds were played, Hall finished on 11-under-par.

As a result of her victory in her first competitive event of the year, the former Oakmead College pupil earned a guaranteed start at the Women's Australian Open at The Grange in Adelaide from February 18-21.

The field at the Australian Ladies Professional Golf event in Melbourne included the likes of three-time LPGA Tour winner Trish Johnson, who tied for sixth, and seven-time Major winner Karrie Webb, who finished tied-11th.

And Hall, who has the words "deep breath" tattooed on her right wrist, revealed how the maxim has helped her remain calm as a frontrunner.

She told Associated Press: "It's to remind me to take my time and not rush. With golf I sometimes do that, I rush the swing or rush a decision.

"Its meaning for me is to try and take my time. If I take my time then I'm going to get it more right than if I rush it.

"It helps me out and I can have it in my mind constantly."

Hall added: "This was four days of constantly trying to keep calm. Finally, I can relax and that's the main thing.

"You're leading the whole time and you've always got to concentrate."

Hall is due to tee it up at the first Ladies' European Tour event of the year, the New Zealand Open, on Friday.

The former European amateur number one sealed her first professional title at the Strasbourg Open, an Access Series tournament, in September 2014.
