A LATE surge in Adelaide allowed Bournemouth's Georgia Hall to mix it with the biggest names in women's golf and bank a second bumper payday of 2016.

The 19-year-old fired a five-under-par final round of 67 at the Australian Open to secure a tied-ninth finish and just over £17,300 in prize money.

That prize fund fell just short of Hall's biggest payday, a near-£22,000 haul which she earned for victory at the Victorian Open earlier this month – her second professional triumph.

The Victorian Open success earned the former Canford Kid an unexpected spot at the Australian Open and although Hall subsequently missed her first Ladies European Tour cut in New Zealand, she was swiftly back in form.

The teenager, ranked 183 in the world ahead of the tournament, was rock-solid in the opening two rounds at The Grange and made the cut on level-par before shooting a useful two-under on day three.

That propelled the ex-Oakmead College pupil into a tie for 30th and she flew up the leaderboard to an overall seven-under on the final day, with only champion Haru Nomura going lower in the last 18.

A 65 from Japan's Nomura saw her finish on 16-under, three shots clear of world number one Lydia Ko, herself four ahead of 41-time LPGA Tour winner Karrie Webb.

Also in the top 10 was Hall's compatriot, Charley Hull, the winner of the 2014 LET Order of Merit.

Hall is due to return to action in midweek at the RACV Ladies Masters at Royal Pines Resort in Queensland.
