A MAN in his 70s who was seriously injured in a crash has died.

Dorset Police received a report of a crash in Ashley Road in Boscombe, shortly after 8am on Wednesday, May 1.

The crash, near to the junction with Windham Road, involved a grey Vauxhall Mokka and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s from Bournemouth, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

He died in hospital this afternoon, Thursday, May 2.

His family has been informed.

As reported, a woman aged in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released under investigation as further enquires are carried out.

Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died following this collision.

“We owe it to them to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.”
